Hyper-lane [traveling through the interconnected hyperspace highway]

“You failed me, Helena!” President Cullen Powers barked at her as his three-dimensional, lifelike hologram shoved his finger at her chest. “You failed me when I assured them you would get this mission complete!”

Helena looked to his finger that lingered against her gold mail. Her brown eyes flickered gold while her nostrils flared, and her upper lip twitched. “How were we supposed to know a Titan would be in our way?”

“I have no time for excuses!”

“Excuses?”

“None,” he reiterated through his gritted teeth.

“Have you ever encountered a Titan, President Powers?” Helena looked him in the eyes, and then licked the corner of her lip before saying, “How about the LAST Titan? The one who escaped Theo that night? Huh? Have you… Cullen?”

There came a moment of silence as the two stood across from one another in the dim common room of Helena’s cruiser.

However, Cullen let out a brief chuckle before informing her, “We’ve made a decision…”
